Bio

Nathaniel Holman is a Chicago based percussionist. As an active performer, his collaborations with musical groups in the area have ranged from Camerata Chicago, The Fox Valley Orchestra, the Wheaton College Artist Series, to the Chicago Brass Band. He has been a featured soloist with the Fox Valley Concert Band, professionally premiered new solo and ensemble works, and is a rostered member of the Heartland Marimba Ensemble after touring with them in 2019 and 2022, collaborating in online projects in 2020 and 2021, and playing a showcase concert at PASIC 2022. Along with his extensive list of ensemble and chamber experience, Nathaniel was also a finalist in the 2021 International Bamburg Marimba Competition and received 2nd in the International Artist Competition (hosted by Southern California Marimba). Outside of performance, Nathaniel has a passion for pedagogy, teaching privately at Neuqua Valley High School, running the percussion program at Oswego East High School and Murphy Junior High, as well as being a drumline instructor at Bolingbrook High School. As a guest clinician with multiple schools, he seeks to build artistry through community. He holds a BM in percussion performance from Wheaton College (IL) a Master of Music from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
