  • 10/15, 6:30 PM – “Clair O. Musser: Manheim’s Marimba Visionary” Presentation and Reception
    • Manheim Historical Society, Old Manheim Train Station
      • David Harvey celebrates the life and history of Clair O. Musser
      • Matthew Coley performs special pieces by Musser
  • 10/16, 6:00-8:00 PM – Manheim Community Marimba Celebration
    • Manheim Farm Show Facility
      • Community festival featuring individual and ensemble performances
      • Percussion petting zoo
      • Local vendors and non-profits
  • 10/17** Orchestra Load-in and Rehearsal – Manheim Middle School Auditorium
    • Load-in/check-in will begin at 3:30, and rehearsal will begin at 6 pm
  • 10/18** Orchestra Rehearsals & Concert
    • 60-piece marimba orchestra headlined by The Lancaster Marimba Ensemble and Heartland Marimba Quartet. Featuring 50 students, guest professionals, and local marimbists
    • Rehearsal begins around 12 pm, concert is planned for 7:30 pm

Pay registration fee here

• Open to amateur, high school, college, and professional marimba players that have 3 years of experience (minimum age of 16).

• Fee: $75 registration fee (linked above – limited spots available)

• Travel and overnight accommodations are the responsibility of that player.

NOTE: Your application to perform is complete when you have paid the fee and filled out the form. Someone from HM will reach out to confirm once registration closes. When spots have filled up or Sept 1 arrives we will close registration.

The Musser Marimba Festival is held in the town where Clair Musser was born and raised, and is buried today, Manheim, PA. It is co-hosted by Heartland Marimba and the Lancaster Marimba Ensemble. Co-Directed by Matthew Coley, David Harvey, and Stephanie Smith. Presented by MostlyMarimba.
The Musser Marimba Festival Orchestra is conducted by Matthew Coley and Jenni Brandon. Soloists include Matthew Coley (marimba and xylophone), David Harvey (marimba), and a surprise! World premieres will be by Matthew Coley and Monica Pearce.
