Join the Consortium for a New Work for Marimba Quartet (or piano) with SATB Choir!

California composer Jenni Brandon will write a new work for SATB Chamber Choir with Marimba Quartet. This 8–12 minute piece will include a performance-ready piano reduction for use in rehearsals and as an accompaniment when a marimba quartet is unavailable.

This new work will be a movement in Death Valley Symphony, a multi-movement work that celebrates the beauty, diverse landscape, and history of Death Valley National Park in California. Existing movements include:

Consortium Members receive the following:

  • Performance exclusivity through April 2027
  • Conductor’s Score
    • PDF Choral Score with Piano Reduction (can be used for rehearsals as well as performances when Marimba Quartet is not available).
  • Virtual conversation between choir and Jenni on the creation of new work.

Lead Commissioners

Heartland Marimba and Bel Canto Cedar Valley Chamber Choir will serve as Lead Commissioners, presenting the World Premiere of the new movement in April 2026. Consortium members will have exclusive performance rights through April 2027 of the new movement, allowing them to present their performances as premieres.
